Computer Management - ReQuest
Yes, Re'Quest will interface with your ILS patron database through a SIP/SIP2 interface as well as with other ILS interfaces.
Re'Quest is compatible with all Windows versions including Windows 7 and Windows 8, Vista, Windows NT 4.0, Windows NT Workstation, Windows 2000, Windows 2000 Server, Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server and Novell Networks. It is also compatible with Thin Client and VM Ware.
Through the ReQuest Computer Management Administration module, staff may extend a logged in Patrons session time.
Yes, the Library may impose a time frame between patron logins. That is if a a patron logs off a desktop and the minimum login time is set to say 20 minutes, then the patron would have to wait 20 minutes before logging back into a desktop.
A patron may have multiple sessions as long as the Library maximum usage time is not exceeded. Once the maximum usage time has been exceeded the patron will not be able to log back in to the system.
The Library may also impose a maximum number of daily logins for the patrons. Once this maximum has been exceeded the patron will not be able to log into the desktop.
This is a feature which the Library may configure as being active or not. As the patron logs into the desktop the Library computer use policy may be shown to the patron. The patron must agree to the policy to gain access to the computer desktop. Depending upon the features selected the Library may have the policy show to Patrons on a periodic basis as well. That is, only show the policy after 3 months, 6 months, 1 year. The time frame is selected by the Library and is completely flexible in respect to amount of time.
Yes, as the patron logs into the desktop the system, if configured to do so, will offer the patron filtered or unfiltered internet usage. It is important to note that the filtering solution used by the Library must be able to support the ability to allow both filtered and unfiltered internet usage and that this request may be sent dynamically to the filtering solution.
As a patrons session draws to a close the clock will notify the patron of the pending end of the session. The number of times the patron is notified is defined by the Library policy.
Once a patron successfully logs on to a public computer a session clock appears indicating the session time. This clock is always visible and counts down the remaining available time for the patron.

If the system is configured to offer Extended Time then the desktop module will evaluate if the public computer environment is considered busy, and if not, then offer the patron extra time. The time to be offered is set by the Library Administrator.

Yes, you can have maximum usage time for patrons and once they reach this maximum usage they will be blocked from logging into the desktop. Library Staff may override this blockage on a patron basis if need be.
Yes, you may have different zones for computers which can segregate them in accordance to Adult, Children, Young Adult, etc.
Yes, Re'Quest may be configured to power down the computers at the end of the day.
Yes, there may be different open and close times for each day of the week.
There are many ways to block a client from using public computers such as for overdue fees and fines, no show reservations, etc. This may all be accomplished through the Administration module.
Yes, computer usage reports may obtained through the Quest Reports module.
Through the Administration module computers may be placed in a maintenance, out of service or administration state which effectively locks the computer from use by the patrons.
Yes, staff may remotely logoff patrons at any time.
Absolutely! Through the central Administration module Library Staff may see all upcoming reservations on any public computer.
Absolutely! Through the central Administration module Library Staff may make patron reservations, delete patron reservations, make future patron reservations, extend the time for reservations and see all upcoming reservations on any public computer.
Yes, a single dedicated computer may be configured to be both a Print Release Station as well as a Computer Reservation station.
Yes, there is a very powerful central Administration module which provides Library Staff with the capability to manage the entire public computer environment.
In fact, if the administrator logged into the Administration module is a super user then the operating parameters of branches may also be adjusted from a central location.
Yes, there are no restrictions as to which desktops are running which format. You may have side by side desktops with each operating a different desktop format.

Print Management - Print Quest
Both Pop Quest and Print Quest can utilize an online declining account balance database. There are a variety of ways to accomplish this. Please contact iTeam Resources for more information.
Absolutely. Print Quest and Re'Quest are an integrated solution and have no problems operating together on the same desktop.
Yes, a card reader and online account balance can be used at the same time. In fact Print Quest Release Station also allows the payment of print jobs wiith Credit/Debit cards as well.
Print Quest and Pop Quest do not need to be tied to a central server in order to operate. In fact it works best when the network printers are created local to the library or lab they where they are located.
